Henriette Eilertsen Trio
Henriette Eilertsen is a Norwegian jazz flautist and composer whose distinctive sound combines improvisation, composition, and a wide-ranging musical perspective. Her 2021 solo debut, Poems for Flute, is regarded as a classic in the Motvind Records catalogue.
With her trio, featuring Joel Ring on cello and electronics and Øystein Aarnes Vik on drums, Eilertsen creates music that is intimate yet expansive, balancing captivating compositions with spontaneous interaction, rich textures, and a strong sense of exploration of groove. The Trio’s debut album, Mother, also features guest appearances by acclaimed Norwegian pianist Jon Balke.
As Norway’s first formally trained jazz flautist, Eilertsen brings both a deep awareness of the flute’s musical history and a forward-looking approach, carrying the instrument into new and adventurous territory.
